Speaker: Matt Herman

Matt grew up in a Chi Alpha family. After getting fully involved in Chi Alpha as a student at Missouri State University, Matt and his wife, Tracy, went to Georgetown University for their Campus Ministry in Training.

Upon finishing their Chi Alpha CMIT, they re-pioneered Cornell University in upstate New York. After 7 years in NY, they moved to St Louis to pioneer Saint Louis University; a private Catholic school in the middle of the city of St Louis.

After 10 years in St Louis they moved to Springfield where Matt is the director of National Chi Alpha Lead Director Training. LDT trains and equips missionaries to be lead directors of existing or new campus plants.

They've lived in Springfield for 2 years and have three children: Nadya (15), Eli (14), and Bennett (10).

BREAKOUTS

9:45am -10:30am

  • We are going to go through scriptures in the Bible that do and do not talk about dating. We will also see what the gospel says about a healthy, godly sex experience with your spouse.

  • In this session we'll take any and all questions you have about the Baptism of the Holy Spirit.

  • Jesus went to the cross to save every person, but not every person will be saved? Why? Together we will look at the Finished Work of the Cross and Repentance to see how to truly be Born Again.

  • Do you ever have the thought that you’ll always be depressed, confused, lonely, traumatized, struggling, or sick? In this session we’ll journey together to see how the Gospel informs and defines our lives, giving us identity and purpose.

  • This is an introductory session that will provide information surrounding the increasing number of those impacted by trauma each year and help you create a safe and supportive environment for individuals who have experienced trauma.

Tasha is an ordained minister, the Director of Student Life at SEU Ohio as well as a licensed professional clinical counselor and marriage and family therapist.

  • 97% of XA students will graduate and enter the marketplace, but their ministry of disciple-making shouldn’t stop after college.  What if our nation’s cities were your mission field?  What if there was a way to mobilize this army to transform communities, through disciple-making? Come learn about a real-world opportunity available to you, as we reimagine what life in God’s church can look like after college.

  • During our time together we will discuss what causes anxiety externally, how we process it internally, ways to manage anxiety & how we can trust God through it all. You will come away with some practical & spiritual tools to help you in your daily walk with God.

10:45am -11:30am

  • There is hope in suffering when your life isn’t what you wanted or expected. April will be sharing her testimony of perseverance through trial, chronic illness and pain.

  • In this session we'll take any and all questions you have about the Baptism of the Holy Spirit.

  • Sleep Paralysis, Dark Figures, Sudden or Lingering Rage and Depression, and worse can be signs of unfinished work in the Believers life. There is a Spiritual World that we interact with whether or not we truly want to believe it. We will look at root issues, cause and effects, and how to have true freedom in Christ.

  • Hear about God's heart for all peoples of every tribe, tongue and language  and how to process what it may look like to do college ministry or World Missions.

  • This session will provide education surrounding healthy boundaries from a Biblical worldview.

Tasha is an ordained minister, the Director of Student Life at SEU Ohio as well as a licensed professional clinical counselor and marriage and family therapist.

  • The Bible is thousands of years old with hundreds of translations, so should I really base my life on it? Come hear more about how the Bible was formed and what historians and archeologists have to say about its validity and reliability.

  • Ohio Ministry Network Women's Director Danielle Dickerson will be sharing on how easy it is to be deceived by the enemy and the process we take in believe lies that he has prepared for us long ago. We will also learn how we can combat His lies with real Truth!
